Long wait time when trying to disconnect pin from net

WORKAROUND:

1. in the layout view in wireframe mode, hover over the pin to be disconnected (be sure the PIN button of the selection toolbar is selected)
2. choose GOTO SCHEMATIC SYMBOL from the menu that pops up
3. select the port or wire that is connected to that symbol’s pin
4. delete the port or wire – it will be virtually instantaneous
5. return to the layout view
