Capabilities updated to reflect the minimum 150 Tg material we offer.
Our standard double sided material is all 150Tg. We can order 170Tg double sided material if needed (full-feature or custom quote if there is a documented callout)
Our multilayer we carry both 150Tg and 170Tg and for most of the product we will use this material interchangeably unless specified on a drawing or readme (full-feature or custom quote).
That being said, both material Tg are RoHS compliant and compatible. While the Tg is a measure of the gel temperature and has become the industry measure for material reliability, it is only one measure and cannot be used alone to identify the suitability to an application, there are other electrical and mechanical properties for every material that will tell the entire story. For RoHS assembly the key properties to consider are the Td (Decomposition temperature) and the CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion). Both the 150 Tg material and the 170Tg material have ratings in these 2 key attributes that exceed the requirements for lead free assembly. We have been offering the 150Tg material as a lead free solution for more than 7 years and have not had any negative feedback from the material not being able to handle the elevated temperatures etc associated with the lead free assembly.
