Accessing a new custom library in schematic

    by rtbrd » Mon May 14, 2012 9:30 am

I created a new symbol using the symbol editor in the schematic capture and saved it to a new custom library. When I try to access the new part the newly created library does not show up in the part taxonomy. What do I need to do to access this library?

Before a symbol can be added to your schematic you need to pair it with a footprint and add it to the taxonomy in the Manage Parts tool. Select Tools Manage Parts.

Step C of the forum post below explains how to use the Manage Parts tool. If you don't already have a footprint you will want to review step A as well.
