The files from v3 should open in v5 without issues, but I don't have any known v3 files to test. Please email you 123 file to support@sunstone.com so I can check the version and see if there are any issues moving from 3 to 5.

The provided file is a v2 design. This version has a separate schematic file with a .epc file extension. The v2 schematic file cannot be opened in any later version of PCB123, nor can it be converted to work with v5. You can continue to open this design in v2 and update it. When you place your order you will need to use v5. Make sure to keep a back up of your v2 designs. Once you save the 123 file in v5 you will no longer be able to open it in v2.

v2 should run on Win 7 and 8. What happens when you try to run PCB123 v2?

Right click on the desktop shortcut for PCB123 and select Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab. Select the box next to Run this program in compatibility mode for. Select Windows XP (Service Pack 3) from the drop down menu and select OK.

I can't imagine why that would happen. If you don't have service pack 3 maybe try service pack 2.
