How do I remove bottom side silkscreen from a footprint then update my existing layout?

You will not be able to delete the any of the silkscreen that is on the bottom side of a footprint. Many of the parts that we purchased from Accelerated Designs have silkscreen on the bottom. Unfortunately PCB123 does not allow you to edit the bottom side silkscreen. This is a feature that we plan to include in a future release. If you need to get rid of the silkscreen on the bottom you will need to create a new footprint then create a new taxonomy entry with the updated part. Editing the existing footprint or copying the existing footprint will not work. It must be a new footprint. Once you have the part in the taxonomy you can go to the existing footprint on your layout, right click and select properties. Select the browse button to select the newly created part and update your layout. You may have to move the footprint back into the original position, but all of your routing and schematic work will be maintained.
