To generate CAM output from PADS software, open the .pcb in PADS and then Go to File > CAM:
The ‘Define CAM Documents’ window will open and here you can click on the various CAM documents to choose the manufacturing outputs for your project. Choose ‘Run’ to generate the selected files.
To confirm that the Gerber files are in the preferred Extended (RS-274X) format, with Define CAM Documents window open, to to Edit and the Edit Document window will open. Choose Device Set up at the bottom of the window; From the Photo Plotter Setup window, choose Advanced. The Photo Plotter Advanced Setup window will open, and here you can choose the output format, etc. We prefer the RS-274X Extended Gerber format for our PCB Quick Turn products since the sizes and shapes of objects in the design are embedded in the file and there is a smaller risk of incorrect information in the final file set.
To generate the NC Drill only, from the same window (Define CAM Documents) Choose ‘NC Drill Drawing’… Summary will describe the selections for the current document chosen. For instance, when you choose NC Drill Drawing, the holes and vias will be described in the Summary section. ~ Choose Run to generate the drill file.
I have attached a quick reference pdf for generating your files. I have also attached screenshots of windows referenced to confirm gerber format.
