Write protected libraries

Postby gmccardle » Tue Jan 12, 2016 8:49 am

We are sharing our symbol, footprint, and taxonomy between multiple PCs. To do this we have these files in SVN, which makes the files read-only until they are locked for editing.

Unfortunately, PCB123 only respects the read-only file state in the footprint editor. For both symbols and the taxonomy it simply makes the file writable and updates them. Would it be possible to prevent PCB123 from updating the symbol/taxonomy files if they are read-only?

At this time I do not believe it is possible in the current version of PCB123. I will investigate this further and let you know if I find out differently. I will certainly let the programmers know of this and see if we can get it in a future update of the program.
