Re: v5.1.0 Feedback

Hi, I'm wondering if it's just me. I'm curious about your claim to faster rendering because for me, with a design done early this year (earlier version, but not much earlier), I am seeing two problems with normal rendering of all items in the layout view. First, it takes over 10 seconds for the desi...

Re: Ultra Library part issues

Is this topic thread the best place to report symbol or footprint issues? If so, all of the LT1790 variants have an erroneous symbol. Pins 4 & 6 are swapped. Also, some 0402 cap footprints have pads that are too widely spaced. Seems like way too many variations on footprints for what should be v...

Re: PCB123 Capabilities

Hi Sal, Old topic here, but I was curious about it again. You said last time that Tg150 and Tg170 was used interchangeably with PCB123 boards. I was wondering if this was still the case, or whether perhaps odds were higher of getting Tg170 when one selected "lead-free" in the options. Any ...

Re: Fab & Assembly Drawings

That's what it looked like. Please consider fixing this in a future rev. Apply the checkmark to each layer selection to be most general, or just to the bottom layers, where it's needed. After all, how many folks out there want their Title Block and Drill Table mirrored? You guys are almost there wit...

Re: Fab & Assembly Drawings

OK I finally got it. I never knew that the Layer Display also enabled a layer for adding info. Thanks! Now, the next issue is with the assembly drawings. I want a mirror view of the bottom of the board, and I get this by checking the "mirror" box. However, everything else, including the Dr...

Re: Fab & Assembly Drawings

Valuable info, but my original question isn't being answered. How do you add notes which will show in printed artwork, which only contains the mechanical layer, board outline, and drill symbols (a fab drawing)?

Re: Fab & Assembly Drawings

So is the board outline on the mechanical layer? In that case, you're saying you can, and then you can't. The edit panel only allows you to turn the display of existing elements on or off. It does not enable you to add information. The buttons along the right side, that do allow you to add items, in...

Re: Fab & Assembly Drawings

Thanks. I see that I can apply notes on the drawing outside of the board, using any of the available layers. But for them to appear, one has to also show everything else on that layer. Not what I want on a fab drawing. Is there a way of placing notes on the "mechanical layer"? What is that...

Fab & Assembly Drawings

Some clients of mine like to have traditional PCB Fab & Assembly drawings to go with their documentation. I've figured out how to get something close with the Print Artwork command, but I'd like to add my own notes onto the resulting drawing. I can move the Board Stackup diagram and Drill Chart ...

Re: PCB123 Capabilities - RoHS

Hi Sal, This capabilities list is the only place I've seen mentioned the FR4 temperature rating Tg140. It is good that you offer a RoHS finish of silver, but my understanding is that due to higher temperature lead free solders used, that a temperature rating of Tg170 or higher is required for most i...
