Re:Schematic symbol does not update after editing

I find that to be a time waster too.

Re:Schematic symbol does not update after editing

<t>There's a real problem with this approach, and that is that replacing the symbol rips up all the nets and requires a total rewire. This creates a lot of redo's which wastes time, it also makes the editing process more prone to errors, etc. This is really a major bug and should be fixed! Also, is ...

Please fix bug(s) with symbol editing

<t>I'd like to post these as bugs which needs immediate attention. It's hard for me to continue using this tool with these problems: 1. schematic symbol doesn't update after being modified 2. cannot cleanup "dirty" symbols in symbol editor (no way to delete them) 3. cannot cleanup "dirty" footprints...

Re:Please fix bug(s) with symbol editing

Yes, thanks for the clarification. It was my misunderstanding regarding the intended use of the "add existing" button. I'll use the "open file" option from now on. Thanks also for investigation and adding this issue to the bug list.

<t> Quote: Sal Hernandez 02-22-2012 10:06:19 Thanks for your feedback. We are aware of issues 1 and 5. We are working on these items and will improve how the tool works in future releases.<br/> <br/> Issues 2 and 3, we do have a solution to remove symbols and footprints from libraries. To remove foo...

Re:Please fix bug(s) with symbol editing

<t>Hi, I think I found the mechanism for the failure (in my case anyways). If I follow your steps above, it works fine. Seems the key is to "open" the symbol file rather than "add existing". I was using the "add existing" option, then the hidden pins dissappear after saving the file. Seems the behav...

Cannot Delete Attributes in Symbol Editor

<t>I have tried adding some attributes to a symbol (i.e. _partvoltage). The behavior is very strange. If I set a value (i.e. 50V), it does not appear in the symbol, only "?V" which is what i initially assigned. Later when I tried to delete this attribute, it reappears when I close/reopen the symbol....

Urgent: please fix symbol update problem

<t>I want to stress that this issue has caused me to redraw my schematic about 10 times. I've also had to redo the layout many times over. I am in the process of creating a library, and each time I find I need to make a change, it is very painful to update the symbol. Saving under a new file name as...
