Re: Pad restrictions

Go to the schemtic editor and name your ground wire as "GND" or something like that by pressing F9 on the wire. Now go to the Layout editor select the polygon tool then select "filled polygon" in the top left corner, select polygon net as "GND" and then draw your polygo...

Re: Printing the layout

OK, nevermind. It was a printing issue, nothing wrong with the PCB123 printing function.

Re: Pad restrictions

If I understand your question correctly then you need to use the draw polygon function, this is how I create copper pours.

Re: Printing the layout

After 2 years I am in the same situation again. Not sure what do I do wrong, but if I print the artwork as described above the panel size doesnt match with the design. The panel size also changes based on the paper size I select: its getting closer to the real design if I print it in A4 then if I pr...

PCB with no solder mask

I have designed a small PCB. I am working on a low budget project so I have disabled the solder mask feature to save some on the cost. My question is: are the traces exposed to corrosion if I order a PCB without a solder mask? If so what kind of a protection should I apply?

Printing the layout

The PCB I design will be manufactured and used in a different country. I dont even have the parts I have to work with, so I would like to print the PCB layout into a PDF and send them to print and quickly check if all the footprints are correct for the parts. How can I do that? If I use cutePDF or N...

Rectangular shaped holes

Hi. I have to put an MTA106D switch to my PCB which has rectangular shaped pins. According to this document the part requires 1mm x 2mm holes (0.039in x 0.078in) What I am thinking about is creating holes: - rectangular shaped pads - hole diameter: 1mm - pad height: 2mm - pad width: 2mm and put coup...
