Pad restrictions

Is there a 1" restriction on the pad width/height? I'm building a part that has a 22.35mm x 28.70mm ground pad. When a attempt to make the surface pad with those dimensions I get the error "Please enter a pad height greater than zero and less than 1 inch". What is the proposed way around this?

Thank you,
Mike

Write protected libraries

We are sharing our symbol, footprint, and taxonomy between multiple PCs. To do this we have these files in SVN, which makes the files read-only until they are locked for editing.

Unfortunately, PCB123 only respects the read-only file state in the footprint editor. For both symbols and the taxonomy it simply makes the file writable and updates them. Would it be possible to prevent PCB123 from updating the symbol/taxonomy files if they are read-only?

Thanks.

Can't connect pins on schematic

I hope somebody can help me with this. When I insert a part into the schematic and try to connect it to other parts, I get an error message that the pin cannot be connected because there is no matching pin on the pcb footprint. But I've checked the footprint an both pins have pin numbers -- 1 & 2. I am using ver. 5.1.3 on a Dell Inspiron running Windows 8.1. Anybody have any ...

PCB Layout Help

I don't know anything about circuit layout or any parts required but I need to develop one. I need a PCB that can receive a remote signal. After the signal is received I need it to engage a solenoid to pull around 2 pounds for about 2-3 seconds. After that I want it to return to its original state. I have absolutely no clue how to do any of this or where to begin. Any ...

SOT-89

I've seen the comment that a pin pad can't be an unusual shape, so does this mean something like a SOT-89 cannot be drawn correctly?
That footprint has 3 pins and a tab, where the center pin and the tab are connected by an "exposed pad" which is narrower at the pin end and wider at the tab end.
I've drawn something like this, with a top layer polygon overlapping the center pin, but the ...

SOT-89

I've read the topic here
http://forum.sunstone.com/can-a-layout-polygon-be-a-pin-t12081.html

So does this mean something like a SOT-89 cannot be drawn correctly?
That footprint has 3 pins and a tab, where the center pin and the tab are connected by an "exposed pad" which is narrower at the pin end and wider at the tab end.
I've drawn something like this, with a top layer polygon overlapping the center pin, but the DRC complains about pad-to-fill spacing.
Knowing this, ...

Dimensions Text Height

The default dimension Text Height in a part library part is 0.025in, but when I try to add a dimension, it only allows a min of 40 mils?
How can I add additional dimensions using the same 0.025in size?

Excel database of library parts

hello,
I was wondering if you had an excel database alias of the library parts. FOr example, an NE555 would be a 555 timer, SO14, etc. Figuring out which component does what function is difficult and time consuming, albeit doable.
An excel compilation of all the parts would expedite selecting parts.
Please advise.
Thanks.
..MM
