How to get a bare bones quote and order ?

Postby rpalma » Tue Jul 22, 2014 11:45 am

I have a simple 2 layer board.
Board is rendered (schematic/layout) in PCB123 V5
It is 3 in x 4.7 in
No need for solder mask.
No need for silk screen.

It is a "work in progress" so I really don't want to pay $160 to $190 for 1 board since I will probably have several iterations before it is perfect.

I entered my board info into the following web page:
https://quoting.sunstone.com/QuoteValueProto.aspx

It gives me a price of $ 67.30 for quantity = 1 with Free shipping.

I can't figure out how to "get this price".

First Tech Support told me that the price shown within PCB123 is the bare bones price. Within PCB123 the price is $188 each with minimum buy of 2.
Really guys and girls ... that is not bare bones.

Then I was told to follow the link:
http://quoting.sunstone.com/quoteexpress.aspx

That approach gives me a price of $ 164.00

So where is the $67.30 option hiding?

Does anyone know?
Is it a real price?

Thanks for helping !

You can order ValueProto boards through the ValueProto page that you linked in your post. Here is another link to the page.

https://quoting.sunstone.com/QuoteValueProto.aspx

Were you unable to order through the site? If you are using Internet Explorer you may need to update Compatibility View Settings to display our page correctly. Try the following.

Go to Tools > Compatibility View Settings. Add the page (http://www.sunstone.com), select Close and try again.

The main differences in the PCB123/PCBexpress vs ValueProto services are minimum trace/space, minimum drill, slots and cutouts, and lead-time. We introduced the ValueProto service as an economical way to get a 2 layer board with a longer lead-time.

PCBexpres/PCB123
  • Minimum trace/space 6 mils
  • Minimum finished hole 8 mils
  • Up to 4 slot/cutouts allowed
  • Standard 2 day lead-time

ValueProto
  • Minimum trace/space 7 mils
  • Minimum finished hole 14 mils
  • No slots/cutouts
  • 1 week lead-time

Please feel free to contact me if you are having trouble placing your Value Proto order.
